How do LEDs work?
The process in which LED lights work is called electroluminescence. It's much more efficient than the process used by traditional (incandescent) light bulbs and lasts a lot longer.
In fact, LED lights produce light almost 90% more efficiently than traditional light bulbs! Basically, an electrical current passes through a microchip which illuminates little light sources that we call LEDs. The result is visible light with less heat and longer life spans.
